How to Configure Directory Tags in Hipcall

You can add a new tag in Hipcall and easily edit or delete any tag you've created.

How to Access Directory Tags

You can use directory tags in Hipcall to categorize your contacts based on known data—such as city or industry. Tags can also indicate whether a contact is a customer or a prospect.

To access and manage tags (add, delete, edit), your user role must include the "settings" permission under the "Directory" category. Without this permission, you won’t be able to modify directory tags.

To use the directory tag feature, go to Settings → Tags.

How to Add a New Tag

Go to Settings → Tags and click the New button in the top right corner.

On the new tag page:

  • Enter a name and description for the tag.
  • Choose a color.
  • Click "Save".

How to Delete an Existing Tag

Visit Settings → Tags and click the "Action" button next to the tag you want to delete, then select "Delete".

Note: When you delete a tag, it will be removed from all associated contact and company records. This action cannot be undone.

How to Edit an Existing Tag

Go to Settings → Tags and click the "Action" button next to the tag, then select Edit

On the edit page:

  • Update the name, description, or color of the tag.
  • Click "Save" to apply changes.
