How are missed call settings configured
You can receive notifications in the form of emails or tasks for calls made to your PBX number that were not answered by any extension.
A missed call is a call made to your PBX number that was not answered by any internal extension. If you want to receive notifications for missed calls via email or task:
- Go to the General section under the Phone System heading in Settings.
-
In the left-hand menu, open the Missed Call Settings page.
-
Set the missed call setting to Active and choose your notification method from the Action section.
Possible Reasons for Missed Call Reports
- The caller may have hung up while listening to the welcome menu. Since the call never reached your extension, it may be reported as a missed call.
- The caller may have called outside of your working hours.
- Your extension may have been busy and unreachable.
- Your extension may be offline or unreachable due to internet connectivity issues.
- You can use filters on the Communication > Calls page to view the reason for missed calls, call duration, which menu and extensions were involved, number of calls, and other details.
Types and Reporting of Missed Calls
A missed call can fall into one of five categories:
- Outside Working Hours: Your number was called outside of business hours.
- Abandoned: Your number was called during business hours but the caller hung up before speaking to any user.
- Short Abandon: The call was made during business hours but ended within the short abandon time (usually a few seconds). This often happens when the caller hears the company name and decides not to proceed or dialed by mistake.
- Callback Request: The caller opts for a "call me back" request instead of waiting in queue.
- Blocklist: When blocked numbers call your PBX, the system automatically ends the call and reports it as a blocklist-type missed call.
You can generate reports using the filter conditions shown below.
